In the current worldwide Chinese teaching,the adaptation of Chinese teachers has become a problem worthy of attention.Thailand is the country with the earliest Chinese language teaching and the largest number of Chinese learners,and also the country with the largest number of Chinese teachers.Chinese teachers living in a foreign culture will face difficulties from all sides.Among them,the teacher’s teaching adaptation directly affects the Chinese teacher’s professional identity and teacher’s teaching efficacy.In-depth understanding of the teaching adaptation of this group of teachers in Thailand and the influencing factors have Certain practical value.On the basis of summarizing the previous literature on the study of Chinese teachers’ teaching adaptation,the author uses case analysis methods to analyze the teaching adaptation of the five Chinese teachers at St.Peter’s School in GST.First,through classroom observations,interviews,and analysis of each teacher’s teaching log,the general situation of Chinese teachers’ teaching adaptation was summarized,and the changes in Chinese teachers’ adaptation during the entire teaching adaptation process were understood.Initially,it was found that Chinese teachers had difficulties in adapting in many aspects.In addition,they show different adaptation characteristics in different aspects,but as time goes by,Chinese teachers generally adapt well in the middle and later stages,but classroom management and language barriers are still the biggest adaptation problems.Based on this,typical cases are selected,and the adaptability of five Chinese teachers is further analyzed from five aspects: teaching environment,classroom management,teaching language,teaching objects,and interpersonal relationships.Through case analysis,it is found that Chinese teachers have a process of teaching adaptation The characteristics of sex,difference and problem.Combining case analysis and the theoretical basis of Chinese teacher teaching to explore the factors that affect the teacher’s teaching adaptation during the adaptation process,on the one hand comes from the Chinese teacher itself,on the other hand is mainly objective factors,including the influence of cultural differences,teaching objects and social support,Finally,strategies for improvingteaching adaptability are proposed to provide suggestions for future Chinese teachers to teach in Thailand.
