The thesis focuses on a series of Twelve Months of Scenery Paintings(?????)which appeared in the Court Art in Qing Dynasty.The main cases studied are Activities of the Twelve Months(Court artists),Yueman-Qingyou Paintings(Chen Mei)and The Twelve Beauties of Emperor Yongzheng which may also belong to this theme.Some paintings found in archives and extant works were also studied,this cases are used to discuss this new painting theme that seems appeared in the late Yongzheng and early Qianlong period.The article is trying to find out the similarity and difference between this"Twelve Monthly Scenery"paintings and the previous images about Time,and then to establish the context of the new theme.At the same time,the research focused on the relationship between this new painting theme and the Qing Dynasty and the cultural trends in this period and earlier,then focusing on the similar narrative patterns between the Floral Calendar Book(??)and The Twelve Golden Hairpins(????).By analyzing the semantic transformation of the twelve gold hairpins in the late Ming Dynasty,the study established the connection between flower,beauty and The Flora of Twelve Months(????)which became popular in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. |
