A Study Of Li Hanrong’s Prose

Li Hanrong,a famous contemporary essayist,has published many prose collections since he began literary creation in the 1980 s,and has made many achievements in prose creation.This paper mainly studies Li Hanrong’s prose from the perspectives of ecological writing,geographical image and poetic characteristics,and makes an objective evaluation of Li Hanrong’s prose.Li Hanrong’s prose contains rich ecological implication,showing Li Hanrong’s green feelings.In his prose,Li Hanrong "communicates with the spirit of heaven and earth" and seeks for the path of returning to nature and spiritual home,showing the deep consciousness of ecological distress,and reflecting the sober consciousness of reflection and criticism.The ecological thoughts of Li Hanrong’s prose has its extensive origins,one is due to his personal life experience,the other is deeply influenced by the ancient Chinese ecological thoughts,and the third is the influence of the western modern ecological thoughts.Li Hanrong’s prose shows a variety of geographical images.Through image statistics and generalization,we can find that there exists image generalization phenomenon in Li Hanrong’s proses,almost every one of his prose has the coexistence of physical geography images and cultural geography images,which expresses Li Hanrong’s beautiful vision for the harmonious coexistence of human and animals and plants.From the perspective of image development,the geographical image in Li Hanrong’s prose is not only traditional but also innovative,which is mainly reflected in the times and individuality.The formation of geographical image features in Li Hanrong’s prose is influenced by many factors,such as Li Hanrong’s artistic conception of "the presence of soul",the image construction of the isomorphism of mind and object,and the writer’s personal growth environment.Li Hanrong’s prose has distinct poetic characteristics.Its unique poetic implications are not only expressed in the spontaneous expression of his true feelings and the deep examination and philosophical thinking of the images,but also expressed in the gallop and soaring of imagination.The poeticization of Li Hanrong’s prose is also reflected in the poetic conciseness of images,forming two image series: the natural things full of spirituality and the rural old things condensed with human wisdom.The language of Li Hanrong’s prose is also full of poetry,through the proper use of personification,metaphor,symbolism and other rhetoric,forming a gentle and implicit language style.The poeticization of Li Hanrong’s prose,on the one hand,is the result of the continuation of the author’s poetic mind and his poetic observation of all things in nature;On the other hand,it is also the result of the author being deeply influenced by the ancient landscape pastoral poets.In addition,the Chinese view of nature and the profound sense of land also influenced the poeticization of Li Hanrong’s prose.The unique value of Li Hanrong’s prose is mainly manifested in three aspects.The first is the persistent inquiry on the essence of human life and the ultimate concern for human survival;the second is the renewal and creation of traditional poetic prose;the third is the resistance to commercial culture and the adherence to the pure writing position.There are also some limitations in Li Hanrong’s prose,such as the tendency of model and stereotype in artistic conception and structural layout,the partial cultural thoughts and retro cultural complex are shown in the prose,and there are some obvious defects in language,lyricism and materials.
