| This thesis is a practice report of C-E translation based on Refosian’s Corporate Profile,describing the development history,corporate purpose,corporate culture,and products of the company.As is known to all,“time-honored enterprises” in China are the representatives of excellent traditional enterprises of the Chinese nation.At present,the first step for Chinese timehonored enterprises to open overseas markets is to promote them globally through their corporate profiles in English.Guided by the Reception Aesthetics represented by Hans Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser,the author analyzes the difficulties in translation of time-honored enterprises from five aspects of words,sentences,texts,figures of speech and colloquial expressions,focusing on meeting the horizon of expectation and appealing structure of readers,and summarizes the translation techniques adopted in the process of translation,including addition,omission and translation in the reverse order,etc.This thesis consists of four chapters.Chapter One introduces the theoretical basis of the translation practice.Chapter Two analyzes the main difficulties and solutions in translation.Chapter Three,based on the concept of horizon of expectation in Reception Aesthetics,discusses the translation at lexical level,sentential level and textual level.Chapter Four studies the translation of rhetoric and colloquial expressions from the concept of appealing structure in Reception Aesthetics;in summary,the translation techniques mainly include addition and omission,transformation of form and content,division and combination;The final part summarizes the main points and deficiency of this translation project.The author hopes to explore how to make Chinese time-honored enterprises go to the world better and let more foreigners know and buy our excellent traditional brand products through the translation of the introduction of Chinese time-honored enterprises. |
