With the rise of the feminist movement in recent years and a stronger call for the protection of women’s legitimate interests and equal rights,feminism has attracted increasing attention from the public.Translation will play an important role in promoting women’s rights and inspire the public to consider more about feminism.Set in the period of the Cultural Revolution in China with,The Golden Age tells the story between the rebellious female protagonist Chen Qingyang and male protagonist Wang Er.The Golden Age has caused a heated discussion in Chinese literary circle and became one of China’s most influential novels in modern times.This research attempts to analyze examples based on the three feminist translation strategies(prefacing and footnoting,supplementing and hijacking)proposed by Luise von Flotow to conclude how the translators of Wang Xiaobo’s The Golden Age adopted feminist translation strategies in the target text and demonstrated their feminism awareness.This research finds out that the translators used the strategy of prefacing to introduce the background information of The Golden Age,the author’s biography,the author’s writing style,and the translator’s understanding towards the work.The translators adopted the strategy of supplementing to compensate for the information loss and cultural differences.They also used the strategy of hijacking to erase the gender discrimination in the original work.However,the translators of The Golden Age did not publicize their feminist tendencies in the translation with much fanfare.Instead,they reflected their feminism consciousness and the translator’s subjectivity by paying more attention to details and wording of their translation.
