Research On The Application Of Montage Technique In Picture Books From The Perspective Of Image Narrative

Picture book is a kind of book form that combines images and words to narrate.It has been popular all over the world since the end of last century and has been pursued by many readers.With the rapid development of new media today,the form of picture books has been strongly changed by the visual language of film and television.Some performance and narrative methods borrowed from film and television language began to appear in the creation of picture books.Therefore,it is obvious that the study of the visual language in picture books is of great value.Both picture books and movies use visual language as narrative means,which have many shared and potential features.Through the comparison of the similarities and differences between the two narrative media,this paper explores and analyzes the narrative and performance functions of film and television montage technique in picture books.Compared with continuous images,picture books are static,but they both belong to the category of multiple image narrative.The interconnection between picture books series of images and the continuity between film images have a similar effect.Montage is a combination art that maintains this kind of image to build a narrative continuously.In the research,this paper has always been firmly based on the theory of image narrative.First of all,the basic characteristics of picture book image narrative are sorted out,and several narrative techniques in single page images of picture books and narrative strategies in multiple image sequences of picture books are summarized.Secondly,by combing the differences and intercommunication between film and picture book in narrative media and narrative construction,the analogy between film shot arrangement and picture book image sequence is introduced to interpret picture book as a series of art forms of image narrative from the dynamic perspective of film and television.Article combined with the case picture books are discussed in several images of the film and television screen scheduling performance:such as the decision of the field lens,symmetrical dynamic scene clips,frame,long technique,at the same time analysis the picture books in movie and TV of all kinds of visual language,such as the inside of the picture size,Angle and series scenes integrity of movement and the combination and so on.At the end of the paper,the relationship between montage and picture book image narration is discussed,and the function of montage in picture book narration and thought expression is discussed by analyzing a large number of cases.For one thing,whether in movies or picture books,montage is always the protagonist of narrative construction.It is dedicated to constructing narrative through the flexible connection of images,integrating multiple parallel and intersecting narrative time and space,and composing the repetition and fluctuation of narrative rhythm through juxtaposition and coherent images.For another,montage,as a technical means to decompose composite films,inevitably contains the views and attitudes of the filmmakers towards the reality.Montage in picture books can also convey emotional messages to readers by means of symmetrical comparison of sequential picture forms and refraction of metaphorical expression.Just like in movies,montage in picture books realizes narration,expresses emotions and conveys ideas through the connection and logical relationship between pictures.This paper summarizes the role and significance of film and television montage in the creation and interpretation of picture books with a large number of picture book cases,in order to provide new ideas for picture book image research.
