| Under the guidance of relevance translation theory,the report summarizes and analyzes the specific problems encountered in the translation from three aspects: terms,sentences and charts.The main findings are as follows: amusement equipment terms can be translated by searching equivalent terms,literal translation and non-translation,so as to achieve the optimal relevance between the original author and the target readers.At the sentence level,when translating long and difficult sentences and passive voices,the translator first should infer the original author’s intention from the source text to find out communication clues,to infer the cognitive environment of the target readers,and to convey accurately the original author’s intention to the target readers;when translating imperative sentences,the translator should not only translate the meaning of the sentences,but also focus on the tone of the sentences.As for the translation of the charts,in order to achieve optimal relevance and the unity of translation validity and reliability,the translator should exert the subjective initiative,and make the content and form of the chart consistent with the source text through the processing efforts in the process of reasoning,thus maintaining the authority of the original charts and ensuring the similarity between the translation and the source text.It is hoped that the report will help enrich the application of relevance translation theory in scientific texts,provide references for further English-Chinese translation of operation and maintenance manuals for the amusement industry,and promote the development of this industry to a certain extent. |
