Abstract/Summary:
The three annotations to the "Historical Records" are dedicated to the "Historical Records",and there are also many literary and historical phenomena contained in them.Based on the existing related study results of " Historical Records " and the three annotations to the "Historical Records",this paper explores from the angle of the three annotations to the " Historical Records " quoting “The Book of Songs”.The introduction part discusses the value of topic selection,clarifies the scope of research objects,and sorts out relevant other scholars’ achievement.The main text is divided into four parts,which are analyzed and explained from the angles of the study of " The Book of Songs ",history,literature and citation characteristics.The first chapter explores the concern of the three annotations to the "Historical Records" to the study of " The Book of Songs ",and how the three annotations to the "Historical Records"quote the four schools of poetry.And to infer the spread of the four schools of poetry based on the quotation.The second chapter analyzes the quotation from the functions except the study of " The Book of Songs ".The first is the historical value of the " The Book of Songs " and related works in the process of quoting " The Book of Songs ".The one aspect is expressed that the historical value of quotation presents the exploration to " The Book of Songs " and related works.And on the other hand,it also is expressed that the three annotations to the "Historical Records" use " The Book of Songs " and related works which were originally works of Confucian classics as historical materials,showing the changes in the status of the history and classics at that time,and the status of history has gradually increased.The second is that the three annotations of " Historical Records " use " The Book of Songs " and related works as dictionaries.They also pay attention to the non-classical function of " The Book of Songs ".Then this phenomenon also shows that some annotators discover the various functions of " The Book of Songs " and the related works,and not limited to its original political,religious,ethical,and communicative functions.At the same time,it shows a change from "Six classics noted me and I noted six classics".The third chapter considers the content of the quotation from literature angle.The first is the explanation of the interaction between " The Book of Songs " and related works and"Historical Records".Although the three annotators quoted " The Book of Songs " and related works mainly to annotate "Historical Records",objectively,some of the quotations played a role in enriching the connotation of " Historical Records ".A lot of content related to historical figures in " The Book of Songs " and the related works are used in the annotations.The connotation in the annotations will help enrich the image of the characters in "Historical Records" and make "Historical Records" richer on the literary level Implication.The fourth chapter analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of annotators ’notes.When the three annotators quoted “The Book of Songs " and the related works,they will uphold critical spirit to use the materials.This critical spirit is worthy of praise and study.Although the three annotations of"Historical Records" can be said to be the classic annotations of "Historical Records",they are not perfect annotations.There is a disadvantage like taking out the context in the process of quoting which may mislead future generations who read the literature.And there are still some inadequacy and mistakes in the use of the quotation.The above four chapters are from the different angles of the classics,history,literature and the advantages and disadvantages of the quotation.
