The “Going Global”strategy of Chinese culture is a cultural construction policy put forward by our country in the 21 st century,and it has a positive role in promoting the awakening,rejuvenation and integration of Chinese culture.Culture,for a country,not only represents the historical background of prosperity and development,but also the embodiment of the country’s soft power.A country’s strength is not only embodied in military and economic aspects,but also in culture and ideology.In today’s integration,the influence of culture and ideology is expanding,and it has gradually become an important factor affecting national strength.The “General High School English Curriculum Standards(2017)”clarifies that cultural awareness is one of the curriculum goals,requiring “strengthening cultural self-confidence,forming a good character of self-esteem,self-confidence,and self-reliance,and possessing a certain degree of cross-cultural communication and the ability to spread Chinese culture.”English textbooks,as the main means and tools for Chinese students to learn English and teachers’ English teaching at the present stage,are an important part of the implementation of English courses.Choosing and using appropriate textbooks is an important prerequisite for completing the teaching content and achieving the teaching goals.This research uses literature analysis,text analysis,and a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods to provide a in-depth analysis of Chinese culture on 2019 PEP Senior High School English I in terms of the distribution,type,reproduction,presentation,and teaching activities of cultural content.To answer the following two questions: 1.What is the distribution,type and recurrence of Chinese cultural content in the textbook?2.What are the characteristics of the presentation of Chinese culture in the textbooks? At the same time,discuss the existing problems and improvement methods.Through research,it is found that,first of all,from the overall situation of Chinese cultural content,textbooks focus on the infiltration and introduction of Chinese culture,with input as the main method,mainly distributed in listening and speaking and reading;the content setting is reasonable and the key points are prominent;Secondly,the type of Chinese culture Rich and diverse,with traditional culture and spiritual culture as the main;Chinese cultural content will be further deepened and expanded when the situation is reproduced.Finally,the presentation of Chinese culture is diverse,flexible,with both pictures and texts,mainly combining pictures and text.On the basis of quantitative analysis and discussion,this article qualitatively analyzes the design of teaching activities in the listening,speaking and reading sections,and puts forward suggestions for the implementation of cultural teaching.In the end,based on the macro and micro analysis of Chinese culture in the textbook,suggestions are made in terms of the selection of cultural content and the diversity of cultural types.
