A Study On Space Narrative Of Reading The Notes Of Yuewei Cottage

Yuewei Cottage Notes is a collection of short stories about strange things in classical Chinese written by Ji Yun,a scholar of Qing Dynasty.It is a peak of note style novels in Qing Dynasty.The novels not only cover a wide range of subjects,but also have interesting narration.In the narrative process,the novel pays attention to the description and use of space,creating a unique narrative space.In the past,the research on Yuewei Cottage Notes mainly focused on the analysis of the types and themes of the works,and rarely from the perspective of spatial narrative.Spatial narrative theory is an important theoretical achievement of narratology in the study of spatial turn,and a new perspective in the study of novel narrative.The current research on the use of spatial narrative theory focuses on the combination of modern and contemporary literary works,but also the lack of attention to ancient literary works.In view of this,this paper takes the novel text of notes of Yuewei Cottage Notes as the research object,uses the spatial narrative theory to explore the spatial construction of Yuewei Cottage Notes,sums up the spatial types in the novel,and analyzes the ideological implication of spatial narrative,spatial narrative strategy and the role and significance of spatial narrative,In order to understand the spatial narrative of Yuewei Cottage Notes.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which explains the purpose and significance of studying the spatial narrative of Yuewei Cottage Notes,sorts out the research status of the spatial narrative theory and Yuewei Cottage Notes,and finally introduces the research methods.The second chapter defines the concept of space narrative,and combs the development of space description in ancient Chinese novels.Finally,it is found that Yuewei Cottage Notes is composed of three space types: physical space,illusory space and social space.The third chapter explores the ideological connotation embodied in the space narrative of Yuewei Cottage Notes.The construction of novel space focuses on allegory expression and reality revelation.According to the analysis of the works,Ji Yun pays attention to the display of allegory in space construction,and contains his survival dilemma,criticism of Neo Confucianism and Revelation of dark reality.In the fourth chapter,according to the theory of space narrative,combined with the specific works of Yuewei Cottage Notes,the author analyzes the strategies of constructing the novel with space.Through the analysis,we can see that Ji Yun is good at changing the perspective in the narrative process,creating multi-dimensional space,forming compressed space and highlighting the form of time;secondly,he focuses on the structure of space structure,and can see three kinds of space forms in his works: shelf type,nested type and plate type.The fifth chapter summarizes the function and significance of spatial narrative in Yuewei Cottage Notes.The spatial narrative of Yuewei Cottage Notes reflects the plot of the novel,implies the fate of the characters and connects all kinds of characters,shows the role of literati’s attention,and contains the aesthetic significance of forming the aesthetic characteristics of advocating the real and it contains unique space narrative significanceIn short,the interpretation of Yuewei Cottage Notes from the perspective of spatial narrative theory is conducive to further explore and explore the literary value of the novel.At the same time,the research on the combination of Yuewei Cottage Notes and spatial narrative provides a new perspective for the text content research,which has certain research value and is worthy of further exploration.
