In the Ming Dynasty,Ningxia,as an important town in the northwest,made great contributions to resist foreign aggression.The study of Ningxia region is also an integral part of the study of northwest region in Ming Dynasty.In this paper,based on the existing " The Document ofNingxia Qian Wei "and " The Document ofNingxia Zhongtun Wei " in "China Ming Dynasty archives collection",supplemented by "Daming reign","Ming Shilu ","Daming law" and Ningxia local chronicles and many other ancient books,the author studies three garrisons of Ningxia Qianwei,Ningxia Zhongtun Wei and Ningxia Zhonghu Wei."The Ministry of War to check the merits of the selection of the book to military and political affairs" has the explanatory notices of the " Military Document".It is helpful to understand the basic information of the book.The twenty-one examples,the order of the selection of the book,the selection of the yellow material,the format of the preparation and the inportant situation(such as the comfort to families,banishment and adjusting the garrison,etc.)of the record principle is the key to be able to accurately interpret the book.The document records the succession of each military official family above the general flag,so we can infer the evolution of the establishment of the military officer from the information of military officer’s transfer,post,succession and so on.Ningxia Qian Wei was placed in the 26th year of Hongwu,abolished in the early years of Jianwen,restored in the 35th year of Hongwu,and belonged to Ningxia Zhongtun Wei in the 15th year of Shunzhi.The Ningxia Zhongtun Wei experienced three times of setting up and three times of withdrawing.It was set up at the beginning of the Hongwu 24th year and withdrawn in the 32nd year.It was restored in the 35th year of Hongwu and merged into Ningxia Wei in the 4th year of Yongle.In the fifth year of Zhengde,it was set up again,and in the 15th year of Shunzhi,it was merged into Ningxia Youtun Wei.In the 24th year of Hongwu,Ningxia Zhonghu Wei was set up as the garrison of Zhu Zhan,the king of Qing.In the 5th year of Zhengde,because of the rebellion,Taihong carried out the rites of monarch and minister,so the garrison was replaced by Ningxia Zhongtun Wei.In addition,the book also recorded the rewards and punishments of military officers.It can be seen that the reward system for some military officers is difficult to audit,which leads to some disadvantages.When dealing with military officer crimes,the principle of"punishment does not involve the son" is adopted,so the cost of making mistakes is low,which also leads to the contempt of some members of the Military officer group on the law,even generations of people make mistakes.A leaf and know autumn,see micro and know all-sided.The research on the selected books of Ningxia Wei is the epitome of the whole research of " Military Document ",and it also reflects the advanced nature and deficiencies of the system of garrison in the Ming Dynasty.The wise emperor can find out the defects and improve them in time,and when the rulers have no ability to maintain this system,the collapse of the Dynasty will be the final outcome.
