Research On The Scope Of Moral Concern For Animals

This paper intends to clarify the logic of the expansion of moral care and its ethical basis.It intends to first explore the specific connotation of moral care,and then explore the theoretical tracing and theoretical basis of the scope of moral care from human breakthrough to animals beyond human beings.Finally,it discusses the ethical challenges and possible coping strategies brought by the expansion of the scope of moral care to human moral life.First,moral concern refers to the treatment that moral actors give to other members of the ethical community which meet the moral requirements.Moral agent refers to the existence of the ability to make moral or immoral behavior,to have responsibility and obligation,and to take responsibility for one’s own behavior.Moral acceptor refers to the subject with moral acceptor.Secondly,the scope of moral concern extended to animals has its theoretical origin.Whether they deny or support that animals should be included in the scope of moral care,they all have their ideological origins.Denial is included in the scope of moral concern,which mainly includes natural teleology,dualism of soul and body,human nature and ethical contract.However,the thoughts of British environmental ethics,American environmental ethics and modern environmental ethics are the main ones that support bringing animals into the scope of moral care.Thirdly,there is a theoretical basis for bringing animals into the scope of moral care,mainly from the concept analysis of rights and obligations,the reasoning why animals have rights,and the conclusion that animals and people are not equal in morality,it is concluded that human beings have rights to animals,and human beings have full obligations to animals.Reasonable reasons are given for bringing animals into the scope of moral care.Finally,some possible solutions are given to the ethical challenges that may be brought about by bringing animals into the scope of moral care.It is mainly the grasp of scale,the establishment of system and the improvement of citizens’ moral quality.
