Research On The Copying And Version Issues Of The Western Xia Topographic Map

The Western Xia Topographic Map is the only existing thematic map in Xixia,and its historical geography value and version value have always been valued by researchers.However,for a long time,the issue of the circulation and version of The Western Xia Topographic Map has been full of controversy.Therefore,this article tries to make a comprehensive analysis and textual research on this issue by collecting and sorting out all the versions of The Western Xia Topographic Map that can be seen in the literature,and combining the latest research results.This article is mainly divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly sorts out the copying process of The Western Xia Topographic Map.This map was originally from Fan Zhongyan Collection edited by Kang Piyang.This book spread to Japan during the Ming and Qing dynasties,After the Japanese scholar Lin Efeng organized copying,an Edo manuscript was formed,and this picture was also drawn in the manuscript.Until the Qing Dynasty scholar Zhang Jian compiled the Xi Xia Ji shi ben mo,this picture was re-released.After being introduced by the contemporary scholar Shen Yao,Xu Song expanded this map into twelve pieces,titled Map ofXi Xia,but it was not published in time.After Xu Song’s death,the manuscript of the atlas was purchased by Russian sinologist Skachkov and is now in the Russian National Library.The second chapter mainly sorts out the various versions of The Western Xia Topographic Map.There are mainly nine The Western Xia Topographic Map.contained in the literature,and we divide them into four systems.The first one comes from Fan Zhongyan Collection edited by Kang Piyang.There are two types:the first edition and the re-edited edition.The second type is a copy of Fan Zhongyan Collection by the Cabinet Library of Japan.The third type comes from Zhang Jian’s Xi Xia Ji shi ben mo.There are two types of engraved prints,one type of stereotype edition,and several lithographic prints.The fourth type comes from the manuscript of Map collected by the Russian National Library.This atlas has not yet been fully published,After the relevant materials of the atlas were translated into Chinese,the translator copied one of them.The third chapter mainly discusses the related issues of The Western Xia Topographic Map.This part mainly involves the version relationship of The Western Xia Topographic Map and their advantages and disadvantages.Among them,the focus is on the reasons for the serious deformation of the The Western Xia Topographic Map.It is hoped that this research can restore the basic appearance of the The Western Xia Topographic Map in the process of spreading.The last part is brief textual research on the three place names in this map.
