| Psychological Capital,as a positive psychological state of individuals,affects the learning of students positively.Therefore,it is of practical and theoretical importance to do a research on Academic Emotions and Psychological Capital of the students in English learning,so that we can help students get higher English learning Self-efficacy.In this study,students from junior high school in Ningbo were surveyed.It will explore the relationship among English Academic Emotions,Psychological Capital and Self-efficacy in English-learning and also to probe the mediating effect of Psychological Capital.On this basis,some advice will be raised on designing efficient English classroom teaching activities to propose the teaching exploration of "willing to learn"and "effective learning".In this study,680 students from three grades of a middle school in Ningbo were chosen as the subjects.This paper adopts The Questionnaire of Adolescent English Academic Emotion compiled by Xu Shuyan and Yang Xianhua(published in 2017),Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire compiled by Zhangkuo(published in 2010)and English Learning Self-efficacy Questionnaire complied by Zhang Risheng and Yuan Limin(published in 2004).Also,to have a better understanding of middle school students’ English learning fundamental situation,emotional performance and self-assessment,three students from three grades were interviewed.Finally,according to the teaching methods of emotional problems in English teaching,we interviewed two teachers from each grade.The followings are the results:(1)There are significant grade differences in Academic Emotions and its four dimensions.(2)There are significant grade differences in Self-efficacy in English learning and its four dimensions.(3)There are significant grade differences in Psychological Capital and its four dimensions.(4)A partial mediating effect is played by Psychological Capital between English Academic Emotions and Self-efficacy in English learning.Part of the effect of English Academic Emotion on Academic Efficacy is realized through Psychological Capital.Based on the results of the survey,this paper proposes some teaching advice and thoughts to carry out positive psychological education in English teaching.Firstly,put the goal of psychological capital into English Teaching.Secondly,infiltrate mental health education into all aspects of English teaching procedures.Thirdly,students’ health in body and mind should be attached importance to in English teaching activities.Fourthly,importance should be given to the formation of learning habits during English learning.These suggestions will help junior high school students elevate their psychological capital,optimize their English academic emotions,and then improve their English learning efficacy. |
