Yao Xueyin(1910-1999),former name Yao Guansan,from Dengzhou,Henan province,is known as a Chinese modern novelist.He styled himself as Hanying,and writed under the pseudonym Xuehen,Dongbai and so on.In 1929,he was admitted to the preparatory course of Law School of Henan University.In the same year,he published his debut work "Two Lonely Tombs" and was involved in literary circles.In 1957,he was mistakenly classified as an extreme rightist and began to create Li Zicheng secretly.The full-length historical novel Li Zicheng has always been a hotspot and focus of academic research.This novel has also established Yao Xueyin’s significant role in the history of modern-contemporary literature and thought in China and even the world.It is precisely because of Li Zicheng that Yao Xueyin began to learn to write classical poems after fifty years old.Although he modestly regarded himself as "an occasional one" and "only a first glimpse of the doorway",the ideological connotation,aesthetic value,and poetic filiation behind his classical poetry are worth of appreciating,and this is precisely the ignored corner of the academic community.This article will use Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry as the base to explore the creative motivation,realistic concern and aesthetic taste of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry through deep reading,psychological caring,and socio-historical criticizing from the perspective of literature history,trying to make an overall investigation of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry and to further enrich its research findings.The thesis includes three sections:introduction,three chapters of the main text,and conclusion.The introduction mainly introduces the current situation and value of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry research,combs and summarizes his main literary creation activities,systematically analyzes the research situation of his classical poetry creation,clarify the research strategy and academic value of Yao Xueyin’s theory of classical poetry creation.Chapter One:Tracing back the creation motive of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry.This chapter explores the motivation of Yao Xueyin’s creation of classical poetry from three aspects:the creation demand,the time environment,and the creator’s psychological factors.From the perspective of "creation demand",the creation of the novel Li Zicheng is the cornerstone and beginning of Yao Xueyin’s creation of classical poetry,the author’s solid accomplishment of classical literature has laid a firm theoretical foundation for learning and creating.From the perspective of the "time environment",the life in the "seventeen years" and the Cultural Revolution and the environment after these provided the external motivation for the creation of classical poetry.The author recorded his political complex in different periods through classical poetry.Thinking from the perspective of "the creator’s psychological factors",the emotional needs of gifting friends and expressing feelings are the internal motivation for poet to write classical poems.Chapter Two:Exploring Yao Xueyin’s realistic concern in classical poetry.This chapter starts with three types of theme,namely the "cadre school" poetry,the event-experiencing poetry,and the gift-giving poetry,to analyzes concern for reality with specific poems.The first section of this chapter is to further analyze the poet’s attitude towards life through the "cadre school" poetry,feel the classical pastoral poetic world and the poet’s pride in the classical poetry,at the same time,comprehend the poet’s ideological contradictions and spiritual worries in specific situations.The second section is to feel the poet’s historical feelings through the event-experiencing poetry,which not only contains the poet’s political expression and passion,but also becomes a text with the meaning of"recording deeds and back to the historical scene".The third section is to make a deeper understand of the scar of time and the personal experience of the poet with the gift-giving poetry,and to interpret the morality of adversity in the secret dialogue and the gift-giving responsory between the poet and friends.Chapter Three:Appreciating the aesthetics of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry.This chapter is to make breakthroughs one by one in the artistic innovation,poetic concept and poetic origin,then to comprehensively analyze and appreciate the aesthetic charm of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry through deep reading and ancient-modern comparing.From the perspective of artistic innovation,the first section of this chapter explores the artistic value of "simulation poetry" from the two major aspects:The character shaping in the novel Li Zicheng and the characters’ expressing in " simulation poetry".The second section is to deeply explore the poetic concepts that have been expressed or to be expressed with the poet’s art-discussing poetry,and summarize the poet’s creation aesthetics in terms of creation mood and writing experience,etc.The third section is to trace the poetic origins of Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry from the dimensions of expression techniques,style choices and poetic features,and to discuss the issues about the inheritance and conversion between Yao Xueyin’s classical poetry and Chinese classical poetry,with the theory of ancient Chinese poetry.
