As information technology is applied widely in the field of classroom teaching and the smart phones are popularized rapidly and completely in our daily interactions, mobile learning has been gradually becoming a hot topic in the research on education.Meanwhile, under the wave of China’s educational information reform, the flipped classroom mode originated from the US is attracting the favor of China’s educational circles with its unique advantages.Flipped classroom mode is a new teaching mode which reverses the traditional classroom. In general,it can be summarized that the relevant teaching materials are prepared by the teachers in advance based on the teaching content,so as to make a preliminary internalization of the knowledge. In class, instead, teachers will help students correct their misunderstandings and deepen their comprehension. Two research questions are focused on in this paper:Question1: To what extend the flipped classroom mode can improve students’ writing scores?Question 2: What effect does flipped classroom mode have on students’ English writing anxiety? The subjects in this study were 84 students in a junior high school in Grade 8 in Panjin,Liaoning. There were 42 students in the experimental class(EC)and control class(CC)each. The teacher adopted flipped classroom mode in the EC,and still the traditional teaching mode in the CC.The experimental results of the two classes were compared after the teaching experiment to study the influence of the flipped classroom mode in improving students’ writing scores.Questionnaires and interviews were conducted as well to explore whether this model can lower students’ English writing anxiety and the statistical software SPSS17.0 was applied for analyzing the relevant data.According to the research results, the conclusion can be drawn that flipped classroom mode is more effective than traditional classroom in improving students’ English writing scores.Meanwhile, flipped classroom mode has significantly lowered the students’ English writing anxiety.Although flipped classroom mode has achieved certain results in the application of junior English writing teaching, there are still some difficulties and deficiencies. Therefore, more research and practice are needed to improve the application of flipped classroom mode,so as to provide a better reference for the teachingof junior English writing.
