A Comparative Study On Fable Literature Between Liu Yuxi And Liu Zongyuan

As two famous statesmen,thinkers and writers in the Mid Tang Dynasty,Liu Zongyuan and Liu Yuxi had very similar life experiences.They both took part in the "Yongzhen innovation" movement.After the failure of this movement,both Liu Zongyuan and Liu Yuxi were demoted to the south.Their long-term relegation and long-term migration not only contributed to their literary success,but also promoted the development of fables to a great extent.This paper makes a comparative analysis of Liu Yuxi’s and Liu Zongyuan’s allegorical literature in many aspects,and discusses the similarities and differences between them in terms of mentality and literary skills,as well as their influence on the allegory style and essays in the late Tang Dynasty.The first chapter summarizes the development of Chinese fable literature before Liu Zongyuan and Liu Yuxi.This paper interprets the connotation and development of fables,and summarizes the development of fables in Tang Dynasty.The second chapter compares Liu Zongyuan’s and Liu Yuxi’s fables to explore their similarities and differences in style and theme,thoughts and feelings and literary skills.The third chapter mainly discusses the historical achievements of Liu Yuxi and Liu Zongyuan’s fables.This paper mainly discusses PI Rixiu’s essays in the late Tang Dynasty and Su Shi’s fables,and analyzes their inheritance and development of Liu’s and Liu’s fables.
