Research On The Innovation Of Contemporary Chinese Genealogy Compilation

Genealogy is a text that records the collective life of a family which connected by blood relationship,and it is the production of public historical consciousness and practice.Contemporary genealogy editing activities are in full blossom.The innovation of the Times has given birth to the innovation of genealogy,which content,style and form present new characteristics that adapt to the contemporary social environment.Genealogies have always been used extensively by researchers as archival historical materials,but there are a few of researches have been done on their own compiled and productive processes.In addition,genealogy researchers attach much less importance to the study of contemporary genealogy than to the study of traditional genealogy.Therefore,it is of practical significance to choose contemporary genealogy as the research object and explore the theory and technological innovation of contemporary genealogy.In this paper,the Genealogy was selected from the Zhejiang library,the Museum of Tianyi Pavilion and the Shanghai library as examples,and explores the innovation of contemporary genealogy in these aspects: content,style and form from the aspects of compilation,production,use and circulation of genealogy texts by the way of the comparative study of contemporary genealogy and traditional genealogy,supplemented by manual compilation and oral interview.There are four aspects on the content innovation of genealogy compilation: first of all,the folk spontaneous behavior is the main reason for genealogy editing;secondly,the thoughts following the mainstream values,the level of genealogy compilation comes down,every family can edit their own genealogy,everyone has the right to get into the genealogy,which makes the process of individual and family “small history” merge with the process of national “big history”;thirdly,the writing mode in line with the writing and reading habits of contemporary people,and pays more attention to leave the family’s image history;the last,keeping up with The Times in the ability and consciousness of genealogists is not only the most important factor affecting the innovation of genealogy content,but also the most important factor promoting the innovation of style and form.In terms of the style innovation of contemporary genealogy compilation,it is shown in the various genealogical charts made by genealogists according to their own preferences or actual family conditions.The appearance of five-generation in one century genealogy coming out with one family;and for the present situation of urban and village population settlement,the editor puts forward a compilation system combining genealogy and village annals.In the contemporary genealogy compilation form innovation aspect:the profusion of the contemporary papery genealogy in the shape,the pattern,the decoration;With the emergence of electronic genealogy,paper genealogy is digitized and online genealogy editing is gradually popularized.The innovation of genealogy editing technology reduces the cost of genealogy editing,which promotes the upsurge of folk genealogy editing.In general,the contemporary genealogy is on long merely an archives of the blood clan,but a public historical record;the upsurge of genealogy compilation in contemporary China has promoted the qualitative leap of contemporary genealogy in both theory and technology compared with traditional genealogy,and the innovation of theory and technology has increased the degree of social recognition and participation in genealogy compilation.
