In this translation practice,the author selected the excerpts from Humor in Classroom.This dissertation first expounds the difficulties of academic texts in terms of vocabulary,structure and language.Then,based on the analysis of translation examples,this paper discusses how translators can use appropriate methods to translate academic texts under the guidance of three basic principles of Skopos Theory.This paper holds that,for the translation of academic texts,the translator should follow the principle of purpose of Skopos Theory in the lexical level,and can adopt the method of domestication and conversion.In the structure level,the translator should follow the coherent principle of Skopos Theory,and can adopt the method of amplification and splitting.In the content level,the translator should follow the principle of fidelity of Skopos Theory,and can adopt the method of translation in the reverse order and the change of the voices.The research in this paper is a beneficial discussion on the translation of academic texts and its findings or conclusions have certain practical value. |
