This report is a case study of the E-C translation of a symposium Primary School English-Language Education in Asia.The author completes the report based on the translation of two chapters of the book.It is to give an introduction to the translation task and an analysis of the difficulties such as the translation of proper nouns and long sentences encountered in translating academic texts.The theoretical support is Skopos theory.The author briefly introduces the content and three basic rules of the theory,namely Skopos rules,coherence rule and fidelity rule,as well as the previous studies on the translation of academic texts abroad and at home.Case analysis is the essence of the report.The author of the report discusses such translation skills as addition,annotation,synchronizing,reversing,splitting and omission to deal with the translation of proper nouns,long sentences and logic devices under the guidance of Skopos theory.The last part is the conclusion.The author hopes to provide reference for the translation of academic text,and do better when dealing with the same type of texts in the future.
