| With the rising interest of mobile learning and the deepening of internationalization,more and more learners prefer to use language learning applications(apps)to learn languages.Promoting the seamless using of universities language learning apps can not only create a seamless environment for university language learning but also go deep into class,capture learning information,create completion database,promote the innovation of teaching approaches,enhance students’ language learning experience and boost the efficiency.Based on this,this research focuses on university language learning apps which are guided by seamless learning theory and interaction design theory.Hopefully,this research could benefit universities using such apps more appropriately and help integrate with language learning among university students.Based on the analysis of the seamless learning theory and interaction design theory,the research designed two questionnaires.Through questionnaire surveys,statistical analysis,and actual research,an ideal design of language learning apps in universities using the theory of interaction design is presented.The seamless integration design includes a general design theory model,a design model distinguished by different dimensions,a design model distinguished by distinct functional categories,which reach the following conclusions:1.Both structures of two evaluating models consist of the time dimension,the spatial dimension,and the mode dimension.There are significant positive correlations between each dimension and the total dimension,respectively,as well as between three dimensions.2.Low and medium frequency and low duration of using language learning apps are behavioral habits among university students.The differences in gender and professional ranking do not affect behavioral habits.In contrast,the difference in grades has a particular effect on changing the length of using.Curriculum settings,test requirements,and professional rankings have a positive effect on frequency on using such apps.Reasons that students use or reject using such apps are more objective than subjective,which mainly relevant to the functional problems of the university curriculum and the app itself.3.The degree of integration of language learning apps in universities can be divided into three types: tight integration,loose integration,and discrete integration.The high-to-low sequence of the student evaluation of the seamless integration ofuniversity language learning apps is the spatial dimension,the mode dimension,and the time dimension,respectively.The time dimension has the most considerable disparity of seamless integration failing to satisfy students’ ideal,followed by the mode dimension,and the spatial dimension is closest to the ideal degree of integration.4.The overall design of seamless integration of university language learning apps should fully consider the contexts of universities and students’ preference of using,where students’ needs and aims should be the priority.The design of specific functions should comply with the design principles of three standardization:seamlessly,intelligence and fragmentation.It should also have five characteristics:simplicity,pertinence,relevance,interactivity and practicability.The design should fully consider the teacher-student interaction,student-student interaction,and human-computer interaction.From the perspective of contents of specific functions,there should be ten functional contents of time integration,such as mobile notes;eight functional contents of spatial integration,such as virtual communication;eleven functional contents of method integration,such as sending voice messages and bullet screens. |
