In 2014,Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China issued the "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Cultivating People".It referred that contemporary teaching should develop students' key competence and promote students' comprehensive and individual development.In 2016,the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Education Information" clearly put forward the concept of "interdisciplinary learning and deep integration",which shows that disciplinary integration teaching and interdisciplinary learning have become a new trend in contemporary teaching.Therefore,contemporary teaching should actively respond to national policies in order to change the current situation of numerous subjects and lack of integration in traditional teaching,and adopt a new model of integration in subjects.At present,there are many researches on integration of subjects,but they mainly focus on information technology,Chinese and English,and there are few studies on the integration of English and science.Therefore,this article takes the integrated teaching of English and science in elementary schools as the main research direction.In 2011,the country revised the "Standards of English Curriculum ",which clearly stated that students can do things in English and required teachers to focus on the creation of context.It emphasized the humanity and instrumentality of language learning which coincides with the concept of CLIL.Therefore,based on the recognition of language learning and the demand of development,this article chooses the subject,integration of English and science under the CLIL concept,to research.First,by looking up some relevant documents,the current situation and background of domestic and foreign research on the integration of subjects are determined,at the same time,the connotation,teaching objectives,theoretical basis,and teaching evaluation of CLIL are summarized.Secondly,the author conducted a questionnaire on English teachers in primary school to understand the current situation of the integration of English and science.The results of the questionnaire show that most teachers have a higher acceptance of the integration of English and science and believe that the integration of scientific knowledge and skills in English has a certain effect on the development of students' core literacy,but actually,only a few teachers tried integration of English and science.Thirdly,the paper chooses a teaching design of Lesson 3 Who eats who?(selected from Light Up Science 2B Unit1 What Animals Do)to explore the ways and methods of integration.Finally,we should follow the ways: integration of multi-dimensional goals,content integration,integration of problem-based approach and combination of evaluation ways to achieve the dual goals of English and science.
