As one of the basic skills of English,writing has always been focused by teachers.Although teachers have made many efforts in English writing teaching,English writing is still a problem for students.Therefore,this thesis suggests using Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching,and adopts the empirical research method to explore the impact of Multiple Intelligences Theory on English writing teaching in junior middle school.The research questions are as follows:Question 1: To what extent does the application of Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching affect students’ critical thinking ability in junior middle school?Question 2: To what extent does the application of Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching affect students’ English writing ability in junior middle school?The research lasted four months from September 2019 to December 2019.Research participants were selected 100 students from two parallel classes in the seventh grade of Tuanhe No.1 Junior Middle School in Dengzhou City,Henan Province.There were both 50 students in EC(Class 7)and CC(Class 8).In the experiment,students in EC and CC were taught with the same teacher and the same English textbook of the first volume of Grade Seven of Popular Science Press.Students in EC were taught with English writing based on Multiple Intelligences Theory,while students in CC learned English writing by the teaching of product approach.This research adopted methods of quantitative research and qualitative research.Research instruments are questionnaires,tests and interviews.And the results of questionnaires and tests were collected and analyzed by SPSS.19.0.The results showed that the application of Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching can significantly improve students’ critical thinking ability and English writing ability in junior middle school.Therefore,it’s useful and meaningful to apply Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching in junior middle school.And this research has certain reference significance for teachers to apply Multiple Intelligences Theory in English writing teaching.
