Writing ability,as a language output skill,is an important embodiment of students’ comprehensive linguistic competence.How to solve the problems in junior high school students’ English writing? How to cultivate writing ability of junior middleschool students? How to improve their writing level? Up to now,English educators and teachers have attached increasing importance to these problems.Based on the current situation of foreign language teaching in China,Professor Wen Qiufang and her team propose production-oriented approach in order to tackle the problem of "separating language learning from its using" in foreign language teaching.This study introduces "production-oriented approach" into junior high school English writing classroom,aiming to explore its influence on students’ writing attitude,writing performance and writing ability.This paper focuses on the design scheme of driving link,enabling link and evaluation link according to production-oriented approach,trying to enhance the enthusiasm of the output target and improve students’ language output ability and comprehensive linguistic competence.In this study,students from Class A and Class B of Grade Two in a middle school in Wanzhou District of Chongqing are selected as the research objects.Among them,Class A is the control class,and traditional PWP English writing teaching is applied in the English classroom.Class B is an experimental class,with the production-oriented teaching model adopted.The author of this paper collects relevant research data by means of examinations,questionnaire analysis and interviews,and uses SPSS26.0 software to make a comprehensive analysis of the collected data,trying to solve the problems raised in this study:(1)What is the impact of production-oriented English teaching model on junior high school students’ writing attitudes?(2)Can the production-oriented English teaching model improve the writing ability of junior high school students?(3)Whether is the evaluation of the production-oriented approach effective for students and can improve the classroom efficiency ?The production-oriented English teaching model in English writing classroom emphasizes that teachers should try to improve students’ language "output" and take effective ways to strengthen "input" training.According to the needs of "output",students can carry out selective learning,which can stimulate their learning needs,improve their learning enthusiasm and initiative.After a 16-week teaching experiment,the author of this paper finds that,first of all,compared with the control class(Class A),students in the experimental class(Class B)adopt a more positive attitude towards English writing,which can be reflected in two aspects of writing enthusiasm and writing participation;Secondly,the writing performance of students in the experimental class(Class B)has been generally improved,and their writing ability has also been significantly improved.The improvement of writing ability is illustrated in the writing content,writing language and sentence coherence.The exploration and practice of the production-oriented teaching mode of junior high school English writing can be helpful to solve the problem of "separating language learning from its using",and can effectively cultivate the English writing ability of junior high school students,improve their writing level and further their pragmatic competence.It also helps to stimulate students’ initiative and enthusiasm in English learning,improves the quality of English classroom teaching,and ensures the successful achievement of educational and teaching objectives. |
