Death is an unavoidable problem at all times and in all countries,and it is also something that many people discuss and hope to break through.It frequently appears in philosophical and literary works and acts as a problem maker or problem solver.Through the depiction of death,we can see not only the most real fear of death in human heart,but also the influence and anxiety after death.Zhang Chu is a representative of the young generation of Chinese writers.He is one of the most outstanding writers in the Post-70 s era.He has won many literary awards such as Lu Xun Literature Award.The critic Shi Zhanjun once called Zhang Chu "male Zhang Ailing" according to his outstanding artistic features.Zhang Chu’s writing style is vivid and delicate,with a high degree of recognition.He focuses on the small people living in small towns in the north and the events that happened to them,and cares about the spiritual life and living conditions of the small and medium-sized people in small towns.In his novels of this kind,there is also a kind of unique consciousness of life and death."Death" is a common topic in Zhang Chu’s novels,which seems to be more frequent than other novelists.It is often related,contrasted and contrasted with the "life" of the little people.Therefore,by analyzing the causes and significance of death in his novels,we can better grasp Zhang Chu’s novels and see the deeper core of his novels.Zhang Chu is one of the most important writers after the 1970 s in China.As a young writer with research value and characteristics,his text research is relatively rich.Almost every year,his writing is mentioned in the literature report.However,the research and interpretation of him is not very comprehensive,most of the research papers mainly focus on his award-winning works or his small town writing and characterization.Obviously this is an important direction,but this "excessive concentration" also limits the richness of Zhang Chu’s novels.This paper hopes to break away from the conventional research perspective and explore new discussion points from his text,so as to have a more comprehensive view of Zhang Chu’s works.Death,as a taboo theme in the mainstream culture,appears many times in Zhang Chu’s small town narrative.The characters in the novel,whether they are involved in murder,suicide,accident or death,can not escape the shadow of death.The reason why death often appears in Zhang Chu’s novels and the deep meaning behind it are worth exploring.In the present stage of research on Zhang Chu’s works,less attention is paid to his death writing.Exploring the poetic death writing in his novels is of certain significance to make up for the research gap in Zhang Chu’s novels.This paper mainly discusses the death phenomenon and its implication in Zhang Chu’s novels,which is divided into five parts.The introduction grasps the characteristics of Zhang Chu’s novels and the concept of death writing,sorts out the evaluation and research of Zhang Chu’s works in recent years,points out the blank points of the research,and introduces the entry point of the paper.The first chapter:death as appearance,from the description of death as appearance: murder,suicide,accident and death of illness,which are four common death ways in Zhang Chu’s novels,to explore how the death of little people in Zhang Chu’s novels happened.The second chapter: the strengthened poetics of death,mainly from two aspects of writing and ideological connotation to explore the strengthening of poetics of death.The writing of poetics is described from the expression of death,and the thought of poetics mainly discusses the deep meaning behind death,and finally strengthens the death poetics of the text from the poetic perspective of death.The third chapter: to ask life from death,to explore the cause of death and how to survive from the two aspects of correspondence and reflection of death.The conclusion part summarizes the significance of death writing in Zhang Chu’s novels and the position of death writing in literary history.Starting from the text of Zhang Chu’s novels,this paper focuses on the death writing in Zhang Chu’s novels from the perspective of "death".Through the carding of different deaths in the novel,we can further explore the reasons behind death and what death wants to express,and finally solve the problem of how to survive after understanding the occurrence of death.Death is not only caused by personal experience and personality traits,but also by the external environment and the times.Starting from the death writing in small towns,we want to ask more about personal fate and the environment of the times.
