Brother Wu Ying is Er Li ’s latest Er Li ’s latest full-length work,which took 13 years to complete.It revolves around the establishment of the Institute of Confucianism at Jizhou University and involves a variety of characters from the three fields of politics,academia and business.It tells the story of how the Institute of Confucianism was never really established under the careful preparation of various people.This paper starts with two core vocabularies of "Taihe" and " facing of the world" in Brother Wu Ying as the breakthrough point,to find work shows profound connotation of " Taihe ",and from various angles explores the cause of the " Taihe " an ideal difficult to achieve,trying to understand the present intellectuals to stick to the spirit of the difficulties and the possibility.This paper is mainly divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly explores the connotation of the word "Taihe" and the ideal of its composition.First of all,the author explores the first implication of "Taihe" from the relationship between Taihe Institute and "Taihe",that is,the establishment of a special institution for the study of Confucianism.Secondly,from the perspective of Wu Ying,the second implication of "Taihe" is explored,that is,Wu Ying devoted himself to the study of Confucianism and the academic ideal of building a discipline and systematization of Confucianism.Finally,from the perspective of Jishi Cheng,the third implication of "Taihe" is explored,that is,the ideal of the revival of Confucianism and Jishi Cheng’s search for home and Confucian cultural memory through "Taihe".In general,"Taihe" embodies the ideal of the intellectuals to realize the revival of Confucianism in the present era.The second chapter analyzes the reasons for the failure of the ideal of "Taihe" from the objective external factors,mainly from the perspective of power and capital to explore the fall of the ideal of "Taihe".During the establishment of Taihe Research Institute,political power and commercial capital have exerted pressure and infiltration on cultural construction.In the encrousion of government authority and commercial capital,the "Taihe" Institute of China Construction Corporation has gradually evolved into the construction of former residences of celebrities and urban reconstruction projects,which is gradually far from the intellectual academic ideal and the ideal of the revival of Confucianism.The third chapter explores the reasons why the ideal of "Taihe" is difficult to realize from the perspective of intellectuals themselves.First of all,it starts with the word "Ying Wu",understand its connotation.Secondly,it analyzes the utilitarian nature of the reticent people and the discourse under the market economy from the point of view of the intellectual’s "discourse",and the discourse of knowledge also deviates from the ideal of "Taihe".Silent or selfish talk for gain makes the ideal of "Taihe " drowned.Finally,it analyzes the "response" of intellectuals’ "conduct".Intellectuals’ depravity in moral conduct and lack of action power in pursuit of ideal also make it difficult to realize the ideal.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the dilemma and possibility that the current intellectuals are faced with "holding the way and responding to things" and adhering to spiritual integrity.Three generations of intellectuals with different growth experiences show different mental outlook in the new century.First,finding holdouts from the older generation of intellectuals.Such as the humanistic intellectual of Wei He,Zifang Zhang and science intellectuals Lin Shuang,for their new era under the stable social environment and cultural policy loose cherish,they cherish the stable social environment and loose cultural policies in the new era.Unburdened by fame and wealth,they devote themselves to their studies,writing books and enjoying the spiritual pleasure of the academic world.Although the old intellectuals were gradually "retiring",they tried their best to hold on to their faith and integrity from the beginning to the end.Secondly,in the era of market economy and globalization,when the intellectuals of Mesozoic era are facing the interference from "power" and "capital",we can also see that Deneng Wen,Niang Yun,Wu Ying and other scholars who adhere to spiritual integrity or seek to break through the difficulties.In the end,there were more young scholars in the late generation of intellectuals who are indulged in temptation,but there are also those who stuck to it like Desi Wen.Although it is difficult for intellectuals to "adhere to the way" and realize their ideals,there is also a light of hope.
