Writing is an important subject in English teaching,it is also one of the essential standards to measure English language ability.Nowadays,the current situation of high school students’ English writing has not reached the perfect condition,among which the writing evaluation method is one of the vital reasons.Teacher evaluation is dominant in the evaluation of English writing.Although teacher evaluation has the advantages of high authority and high evaluation quality,there are some problems such as teachers’ dominance.Students show low interest in writing and delay in improving their grades.Therefore,this study takes the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model proposed by Professor Wen Qiufang as the framework,applied to English writing teaching in high schools.The purpose is to enhance students’ English writing ability,and improve the status of English writing evaluation in high schools in China.In order to investigate the effectiveness of the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model in high school English writing teaching,this study will focus on the following issues:(1)What is the influence of teacher-student cooperative evaluation on high school students’ attitudes towards English writing?(2)What is the influence of the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model on the English writing performance of senior high school students?(3)What is the influence of the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model on the sub-scores of language,content and structure in high school students’ English writing scores?In this study,we selected 91 students of two classes in Harbin’s high school as the research objects.The experimental class adopted the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model,while the control class adopted the traditional teacher evaluation model.After sorting out and analyzing the data,the following conclusions are drawn: First,the teacher-student cooperative evaluation mode has changed students’ attitude towards English writing.Students like the teacher-student cooperative evaluation mode and hope to continue to use this evaluation mode in the future.Secondly,the application of the teacher-student cooperative evaluation model has improved students’ English writing scores as well as the sub-scores of writing language,content and structure.This study also brings some enlightenment for English writing teaching in high school.First,change the traditional English writing teaching concept.Teachers should change their thinking and accept the new evaluation mode.Second,let students do the principle part of the evaluation process,actively participate in the writing process;Thirdly,we should attach importance to the leading role of teachers,who are the designers,guides and facilitators of the whole process and can provide students with more professional guidance.Finally,this study also has some shortcomings,such as short experiment time,small sample size and some uncontrollable factors,so more detailed research is needed in the future.
