| This practice report is about the author’s consecutive interpretation.The author participated in the contemporary dance workshop held by Wuhan Institute of Design and Sciences in October 2020.She provided interpreting services for the art instructor Kevin Polak from the Netherlands.This article carries out case analysis on part of the interpretation,analyzing and comparing the different strategies adopted under the guidance of Skopos theory in the two scenarios of classroom interpreting and conference interpreting.In the chapter of literature review,the author collected domestic and foreign studies on skopos theory,classroom interpretation and conference interpretation,and elaborated the "three rules" of skopos theory.In the task description part,the author introduced the background of the project,the preparation,and the challenges encountered on site and feedback from the participants.In the case analysis chapter,the author separately analyzed the different interpreting strategies adopted to meet the requirements of skopos theory in classroom and conference interpretation.Classroom interpretation requires the interpreter to convey the instructions of the original text in a relatively short time,and the words and tone should be close to the original text.In conference interpreting,interpreters need to process high-density important information and ensure that the information is accurate and effective.Finally,the author summarized the different interpreting strategies adopted in the practice,and put forward suggestions for novice translators. |
