This dissertation aims to discuss how to use innovative materials to continuously inherit and protect traditional crafts in intangible cultural heritage.At present,the design of domestic intangible cultural heritage handicrafts still tends to be more traditional and culturally difficult to promote,and lack of diversification of handicraft.An in-depth study of traditional handicrafts can let intangible cultural heritage and creative creations demonstrate strong artistic vitality and enhance the inheritance of non-legacy culture.This dissertation will use “Si Xi Wa” as a carrier to summarize and introduce the new material art expression form and the traditional materials and innovative materials in various aspects.By explaining the changes of traditional handicrafts and modern innovative materials and the importance of traditional handicrafts in contemporary art through multiple cases to analysis the acceptance and views of cultural and creative products that combined traditional handicrafts and innovative materials.Through a comprehensive collection of several representative handicraft materials,practiced and created the "Si Xi Wa" series of cultural works,using innovative methods and non-traditional materials to combine practical creation,in order to tap the contemporizing of design and the development of interactive inheritance of the "Si Xi Wa".The combination of traditional handicraft culture and innovative materials can well solve the problems of inheritance,protection and development of intangible cultural heritage handicrafts.Inspire people to further understand traditional handicrafts and promote the role of intangible cultural heritage,in order to better enhance the traditional cultural brand spreading and inheritance.
