| Neighborhood Size Effect has an impact on the recognition process of Chinese vocabulary and Chinese characters,it comes from the facilitation or inhibition of neighbors in terms of grapheme,phoneme and semantics.In order to explore the influence in Chinese vocabulary and Chinese character recognition process,this study designed three experimental studies:The Study 1,based on the semantic activation model,explores the impact of neighborhood effect in the process of Chinese vocabulary recognition and the process of Chinese vocabulary recognition.Select 34 college students whose native language is Chinese,let them perform vocabulary recognition tasks,and use functional near-infrared spectroscopy(f NIRS)to observe their brain activation responses.The results showed that:(1)the words with a larger neighborhood size produced shorter reaction time than those with a smaller neighborhood size;(2)Compared with the large neighborhood size words,the small neighborhood size words were more activated in the Left inferior frontal gyrus and Left inferior parietal lobule.The Study 2,In order to explore the influence of the neighborhood effect of phonetic radicals on the process of Chinese character recognition and the process of Chinese character recognition,based on the theoretical basis of the mechanism of inhibitory neighborhood effects,41 college students whose native language is Chinese were asked to perform Chinese character recognition tasks and observe the brain activation responses.The results showed that:(1)the characters with a smaller neighborhood size produced shorter reaction time than those with a larger neighborhood size;(2)the activation of the characters in the large neighborhood size was stronger than that small neighborhood size in the Left fusiform gyrus.The Study 3,Based on the same theoretical basis of the second study,to explore the influence of the neighborhood effect of semantic radicals on the Chinese character recognition process,40 college students with native Chinese language are selected to perform the Chinese character recognition task,and the brain area activation during the experiment is observed.The results showed that:(1)There was no significant difference in reaction time between the characters of the large neighborhood size and the small neighborhood size,that is,no significant neighborhood effect were observed.(2)Compared with the small neighborhood size characters,the large neighborhood size characters have stronger activation in the left fusiform gyrus. |
