The Instructional Design And Application Of PAD Class In Junior Middle School English Writing

Writing plays a very important role in English teaching.It is an important part of junior middle school English teaching.It can reflect students’ mastery of English and their ability to use comprehensive knowledge.The English Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)points out the five level standard of junior middle school English writing.However,the current junior middle school English writing teaching fails to meet the requirements of the curriculum standard.There are still some problems in teaching.PAD Class is a new teaching mode with solid theoretical basis and the advantages of various teaching methods.It includes presentation,assimilation and discussion,so it is also called PAD Class.PAD Class has been widely used in different subjects and different periods of teaching,and has achieved good results.Firstly,on the basis of studying and grasping the curriculum standard,this paper designed the specific and operable instruction design of junior middle school English writing according to the PAD Class teaching mode.Secondly,based on PAD Class English writing instruction design,this research selected the writing topic “Write an advertisement for your own clothes store” in the seventh unit of the first volume of the seventh grade to give a specific teaching plan.Then,the researcher applied the PAD Class writing teaching design to teaching practice,implemented the PAD Class writing teaching mode in the experimental class,and traditional writing teaching mode in the control class,and conducted a three-month teaching experiment.Finally,through collecting and sorting out the performance data and the questionnaire data,the paper analysed and discussed the application effect of PAD Class writing instructional design from two aspects of students’ writing performance and writing interest.Through data analysis and discussion,conclusions are as follows.The PAD Class teaching design of English Writing can have a positive impact on the improvement of students’ writing performance from the three aspects of accurate and appropriate use of vocabulary and sentence patterns,strict and complete composition structure and fewer punctuation and grammar errors.The PAD Class teaching design of English Writing has a positive impact on students’ writing preferences,enhancing students’ confidence in writing,changing their writing attitudes,making students more proactive and earnest in English writing,and increasing their interest in writing.In summary,based on the PAD Class model,combined with the requirements of the“Curriculum Standards”,this research designed a concrete and feasible PAD Class English writing instruction design.And the instruction design has actively developed students’ English writing performance and interest in writing in the application.A good application effect has been achieved.
