A Study Of Tao Yuanming’s Suite Poem

Tao Yuanming was a great poet who wrote suite poem in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,and his suite poem play an important role in the history of literature,which is worth further study.Based on Yuan Xingpei’s "Tao Yuanming Ji Jianzhu",the author calculates that there are 80 poems in 12 groups of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem,accounting for about two-thirds of the total number of his poems(the extant total of Tao Yuanming’s poems is125).At present,there is still room for the study of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem in the academic circle.This paper intends to dig further on the basis of previous studies and make a systematic study of his suite poem.The paper includes four parts.The preface summarizes the research status of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem and analyzes the significance of this topic.The first chapter discusses the general situation of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem creation,mainly explaining the time of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem creation and exploring the reasons for Tao Yuanming’s suite poem creation.In the second chapter,Tao Yuanming’s suite poem are divided into four parts:pastoral poems,lyric poems,travel poems and philosophical poems.The third chapter analyzes the artistic achievement and influence of Tao Yuanming’s suite poem from three aspects: subject matter,structure and image.
