Zheng Huaixing is one of the most representative figures in the contemporary Chinese Opera Festival.Since he was engaged in opera creation in 1980,Zheng Huaixing has entered the field of opera for 41 years.In these 41 years,Zheng Huaixing has created more than 40 works,such as tears in the new pavilion,Fu Shan’s coming to Beijing,King Zhao Wuling,and the story of duck clown.As a leading playwright in Contemporary Chinese opera,Zheng Huaixing successfully opened the door to the domestic opera market with a song "tears in the new pavilion",and became a leading playwright in the field of opera with his painting of the inner world of historical figures and rich and profound theme connotation.The theme of his works is consistent,often focusing on advocating and expressing the integrity and dignity of literati and bureaucrats,laughing and scolding villains for being mean and shameless,with a strong intellectual atmosphere.Although individual works are somewhat "separated" from the ordinary audience’s psychology of watching the opera,they have conquered the "people of the same way" in the opera as a whole,reflecting that Zheng Huaixing attaches importance to "people" rather than "things" It also has the dramatic style of magnificent and mischievous.Domestic attention to Zheng Huaixing’s works has a long history,but researchers usually focus on the theme and aesthetic tendency.However,the research on the narrative level of Zheng Huaixing’s opera works(that is,how to tell a story)is far from enough.Although some scholars are in favor of Zheng Huaixing’s plays,most of them analyze his plays in the form of drama review,which is unable to grasp the artistic characteristics of Zheng Huaixing’s works from the overall and narrative level.On the premise that the research results are still limited and not systematic,it is particularly important to make an overall and systematic analysis of Zheng Huaixing’s plays.First of all,this paper intends to make a systematic and comprehensive analysis of Zheng Huaixing from the era environment,culture and family background,so as to understand the formation of his creative tendency and creative idea.Secondly,starting from the narrative structure and plot of Zheng Huaixing’s works,this paper focuses on the plot content division,plot clue operation mode and plot narrative arrangement of his works,and makes a comparative study on the narrative structure of his different plays.Finally,it focuses on Zheng Huaixing’s unique narrative space,narrative time and stage narrative methods.The author will carefully read the text of Zheng Huaixing’s works,observe his stage performance,use the research method of dramatic narratology to analyze his unique narrative techniques,and grasp the inherent narrative logic and philosophical connotation of Zheng Huaixing’s works.The first mock exam of Zheng Huaixing’s works is based on the narrative level of Zheng Huaixing’s works.The author finds that there is a common pattern in the narrative structure of the drama,namely,"the characters get rid of the initial state and experience twists and turns,and finally end with optimistic results,or even if the ending is tragic,it is also the sublimation of the triumph of justice over evil and wisdom over defeat." It shows the theme of Zheng Huaixing’s opera that he dares to face the dark side of life and is good at overcoming difficulties with wisdom.In terms of narrative time and space,the biggest feature of Zheng Huaixing’s opera works in time is that the narrative speed slows down with the creation time,from the beginning to the later,he focuses on expressing strong emotions.In terms of space,Zheng Huaixing’s operas are good at breaking the boundaries of space,and the situations they create are full of fluidity and the extension of imagination space.On the stage narrative level,Zheng Huaixing pays attention to play the special skills of drama types,sets plays according to people’s needs,and is often active in rehearsals to communicate with directors,dance artists and other types of work,so as to make the script stand on the stage more perfectly.In addition,Zheng Huaixing is good at discovering the audience’s interest points,paying attention to the deep-seated law of the interdependence between the audience and the theater,and always maintaining aesthetic communication with the audience.In a word,Zheng Huaixing’s opera works make good use of the narrative means full of mysterious symbols to cut into the philosophical level of thinking,so that his works are richer than the real life and historical reality,and have cognitive value without losing the truth.Therefore,the study of Zheng Huaixing’s works can not only make the audience further understand Zheng Huaixing’s unique thinking about the world and life wisdom,but also summarize Zheng Huaixing’s creative law in opera literature.There is no doubt that Zheng Huaixing is a contemporary opera writer with imagination,creativity,social responsibility and the spirit of historical reflection.The highlight of Zheng Huaixing’s drama is the experimental innovation and improvement of the means of expression of the current drama,so as to carry out the perspective and capture of the inner secrets of the drama characters.In his individualized creation,the narrative style of contemporary opera has been enriched,and his plays can be described as a combination of ideology and appreciation.
