| Language shapes the way we perceive and experience the world.Human beings carry out cultural production through language, and the construction of ecological culture is inseparable from language.Ecocritics attaches great importance to the role of language, and constantly explore the connection between natural reality and language signs. The attention to language in ecocriticism theory has led to the recurrence of language research vitality, especially the exploration of ecological language turn. This dissertation focuses on the linguistic and cultural topics in ecocriticism theory, trying to clarify the internal turn of its language and the problem of language ecologicalization. The content of the thesis includes an introduction and four chapters. The introduction points out the origin and current research status of the language turn in ecocriticism, and introduces the connotation of the language turn in ecocriticism and the ideas of the paper. The first chapter discusses the language thesis in ecocriticism and the theoretical dilemma before the language turn, and points out the necessity of the language turn of ecocriticism.Ecocriticism theory is conceived from postmodernism theory, which not only affirms the construction role of language, but also produces great distrust of the nature of language construction. It creates a debate on the issue of "whether nature is in language or outside of language",forming a theoretical dilemma. The chapter II focuses on the ecological language turn issues in ecocriticism, points out the Motivating factors and focuses on the ecological criticism of the non-ecological nature of language in human society.Under multiple mechanisms such as the importance of language constructing ecological culture and the crisis of language representing nature, ecocriticism theory focuses on language issues such as the reduction of linguistic biodiversity and the non-ecological aspects of pragmatics. The chapter III casts a perspective on the material that exists in the natural world, and explores the possibility of ecological language.Ecocriticism affirms the existence of non-human "language" and believes that not only humans have language, but they also "speak." Ecocriticism examines language from a material perspective, endows nature with equal status, and incorporates it into a common language network. The natural language view from the material perspective further deconstructs the human language-centered theory and presents a language world in which all things live in harmony. The chapter IV summarizes the meaning of the language turn of ecocriticism and reflects on the language turn. The language turn in ecocriticism is of great significance to the construction of ecological culture and the development of the theory itself. At the same time, this language turn also has problems such as the duality of human and non-human research, not systematic enough, and lack of aesthetic perspective.I gave a simple reflection on how to realize the ecologicalization of language and some ideas about the future of language issues of ecocriticism in the conclusion part. |
