| Ireland was originally a country opposite to England.However,in the 12 th century,the Normans occupied Ireland for political,military and other reasons.Since then,Ireland’s struggle against British rule and national independence has never stopped.Until the end of the 19 th century,the Irish people’s national consciousness was generally strengthened,and the call for local autonomy became more and more intense.Irish writers spontaneously created a large number of high-quality works of art in the fields of poetry,drama,novels and so on,forming a spectacular Irish Renaissance movement.Under the influence of the Irish Renaissance,an Irish drama movement is quietly brewing.Finally,on the famous afternoon of 1897,Yeats and Martin came to Mrs.Gregory’s villa in Galway.The declaration of the Irish Literary troupe drafted by them marked the birth of the Irish Drama Movement.With the theme of reconstructing Irish national identity and reviving Irish national culture,the Irish Drama Movement boldly opened up a nationalization road with unique Irish characteristics,set off an upsurge of establishing Irish Literary troupes and national theatres,and created a number of drama works that expressed Irish people’s life,reflected national spirit and eulogized national culture.The great achievements of the drama movement not only brought Irish national culture out of Ireland,but also promoted Irish national culture to a wider world stage.This paper mainly discusses from four aspects.Firstly,it combs the development process of nationalization theory,and on this basis leads to the concept of nationalization,and further points out the unique features of the nationalization of Irish Drama Movement.Secondly,it focuses on the background of Irish Drama Movement,and points out the relationship between the Irish Renaissance movement and the Irish Drama Movement,so as to accurately reveal the relationship between them Then,it discusses the exploration and practice of Irish Drama Movement in the perspective of nationalization from the creation of national drama and the establishment of national theater.Finally,it makes an overall evaluation of Irish Drama Movement and summarizes the historical contribution and successful experience of Irish Drama Movement in the exploration of nationalization. |
