The object of this study is 223 porcelain bowls unearthed in No.4 workshop of Hejin Guzhen porcelain kiln site.First of all,the typology and volume analysis of the porcelain bowl,according to the characteristics of the mouth and abdomen of the porcelain bowl,Open belly bowl,open belly bowl and mouth bowl,This paper analyzes and compares the five key data of porcelain bowl’s caliber,height,diameter,height and thickness,Most of the caliber of porcelain bowls is between 18 and 20 cm,so there is a standardized production model.Secondly,the process characteristics of the porcelain bowl were studied,and the molding of the utensils included billet processing,tire,makeup soil,glaze,decoration technology and burning technology,Porcelain bowls belong to coarse white porcelain,coarse tire,but high density,all apply white makeup soil,mainly yellow and white tire,followed by gray tire.The glaze is green or yellow.The inner and outer walls of the porcelain bowl are coated with makeup soil,and the outer wall of the porcelain bowl is smeared unevenly,and the outer wall has obvious flowing marks.The inner wall of the bowl is glazed,the outer glaze is glazed to the middle or lower abdomen of the bowl,and some even glaze to the upper part of the ring foot.Decoration technology to string-based,white black painting decoration followed.Porcelain bowls are filled with sagger,the way to burn with acerbity circle and circle foot sticky mud nail two kinds.Thirdly,the research on the technology of porcelain bowl and the observation and measurement of the microstructure of porcelain plate by optical microscope,It was found that most of the porcelain bowls were coarse,with more inclusions,and the glaze was mainly white glaze,all of which were coated with clay and glaze,The thickness of the dressing soil is between 104-277μm,the glaze is more uniform,and the thickness of the glaze is between 138-268 μ m,Bubble diameter measured between 26 μ m-128 μ m;Using X-ray fluorescence spectrometer to analyze the chemical composition of the matrix,it is found that the content of Na2O、P2O5、Mn O、Ti O2 in porcelain bowl is low,The content of iron in porcelain plate carcass is more concentrated,the content of iron is lower as a whole,and the iron content of individual carcass is relatively high,which accords with the characteristic of white carcass quality of Hejin kiln porcelain bowl.Finally,The porcelain bowls unearthed from Hejin Kiln were compared with those unearthed from other regions in the north and from the kiln entrance in Shanxi,respectively,from the aspects of burning technology and the decoration technology of the porcelain bowl.Thus,the connection and communication between the kiln sites on the porcelain making technology are inferred.
