| This report is based on an open course on effective essay writing conducted by the University of Chicago in 2014.The speaker of the class was Professor Larry Mc Enerney who aimed to provide students with useful rules,techniques and resources for their essay writing.In the class,the speaker’s expression had obvious oral features.In terms of information density,methods such as omission and induction can be adopted for the barriers of listening comprehension which were caused by information density and information redundancy.In terms of language style,in view of the listening comprehension caused by changeable styles and the fluctuation of pronunciation and intonation of the speaker,we can adopt the methods such as revision and syntactic linearity.In terms of semantics and logic,in view of the auditory recognition barriers caused by semantic ambiguity and logical confusion,we can improve the accuracy and conciseness of the target language through methods such as amplification and logic manifestation.In terms of outside noise,we can adopt methods such as waiting and information integration in response to the auditory recognition barriers caused by noisy environment.This report summarized the listening comprehension barriers in simultaneous interpretation and analyzed training methods from four aspects: information density,semantics and logic,language style and outside noise.It is hoped that the summary and analysis of this report will provide some help and experience for the future interpretation activities and our daily learning and training. |
