| He Zhuo was a famous bibliophile,calligrapher and emendator in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.He had a rough career in his official career,but he was dedicated to learning,especially in emendation.His books of emendation were all over confucian classics,history,philosophy and literature,there are collections of poems and essays The Collection of Mr.Yimen,reading notes compilation The Reading Notes of Mr.Yimen,family books compilation Mr.Yimen’s Family Letters and other works handed down to the world.He made a wide range of friends,including Qian Zeng,Mao Yi,Yan Ruoqu,Yang Bin,Xu Qianxue,Li Guangdi and other famous scholars.Therefore,combing He Zhuo’s life and deeds can not only fully show his ups and downs of life and experience of making friends,but also systematically reveal his academic thoughts and achievements,especially his achievements in collation.And at the same time,it can also play a supplementary role in the study of country squires in Jiangsu Province.The chronology of He’s life,according to The Chronicle of Chinese characters in the past dynasties,Wang Xinfu once had a volume of biographical transcript of The chronicle of He Yimen,but now its whereabouts are unknown.Yang Xu mentioned in his master’s thesis that he had written the chronology of He Zhuo,but it has not been published,and from Yang Xu’s own statement,the data he collected are far from exhaustive.Therefore,this chronicle reorganizes He Zhuo’s poetry collection,reading notes,family letters and other works,and widely collects the records related to He Zhuo’s life in historical books,local chronicles,He Zhuo’s relatives and friends’ works,and later generations’ book catalog,so as to compile a comprehensive,systematic and accurate chronicle for reference.The main innovations are as follows: first,collect as much information as possible about He Zhuo,including the existing but unorganized works of He Zhuo;second,make textual research on He Zhuo’s friends,and chronology some of his poems;third,make textual research and correction on the controversial historical materials and some contradictory materials collected about He Zhuo. |
