| This paper studies the ritual music of the Miao "Mongolian" branch in the highland of eastern Guizhou,and studies the role of music in the ritual system of Miao society from the ritual angle of using music in etiquette.Life etiquette consists of three ceremonies: wedding,birth ceremony and funeral.In this paper,the Mongolian branch is taken as the field investigation point,and the music of life etiquette is taken as the research object.By investigating and analyzing the music of life etiquette,the insiders’ cognition and classification of music are explained,and the music view behind it is explored.And the first chapter introduces the field area,specific field villages,and music occurrence field.Chapter II,III and IV recorded the three ceremonies,and the ritual records are combined with music.The three rituals contain the local people’s view of life and soul,and present the ritual process,so they is divided into three chapters.To carry out a record of its complete life etiquette,found that the soul and life influence the people’s local music.Chapter five classifies the life etiquette music by the bureau music view,which is divided into two categories: singing and instrumental music.Singing is divided into three songs,chanting tones and chanting tones;instrumental music is divided into three kinds: wood leaf,bench and suona.Chapter VI analyzes the life etiquette and music from the melody system,lyric rhythm and singing mode.Chapter seven mainly from the perspective of cultural interpretation,analyzes the role of the "Mongolian" branch music concept,rites and music in stabilizing the social order of the Miao and the parallel inheritance mode of rites and music.Music runs through the complete life etiquette,which is an indispensable glue in the etiquette progress,so that each link of the etiquette is closely connected,orderly to follow,so that the etiquette procedures are full and vivid.Locals believe that dragging long tones,communication with people is called songs,other melodies,but not communicating with people,so called chanting and chanting.In the wedding and birth ceremony,the soul and life are in the real space,the music knows the same,and communicates with people,so it is called a song.In the funeral,the original stable space order becomes unstable because of the separation of soul and life,from reality to the same space into reality and virtual dual space,so the songs sung at the funeral are not called songs,for the chanting tone.After the return of the three souls,the space order is stable,and then the monument song is called a song.Music is embedded in the daily life and sacrificial ceremony of the Miao people."Music" is the ritual signal in the "ritual" and a link to the whole ritual process.Only by analyzing the three rituals with music as the main line from the overall perspective and paying attention to its music and culture,can we deeply explore the cultural significance contained behind the life etiquette music. |
