As a language art and literary genre,myth flourished in the ancient times of various nations and evolved over a long historical period.The Miao who is an ancient minority nationality also flowing with the song about myth from one generation to another since the remote time.In the 1950 s and 1960 s,for the first time,non-governmental organizations and Hmong scholars collected local Miao myths and translated into Chinese edition.The Hmong mythology tells the story that how the universe was formed,how humans originated,and how they thrived.Myths explain the question that who is the ancestors of the Miao people and why the Miao people migrate west of China.The original ancient folk song of Hmong,known as encyclopedia of ancient society of Hmong people,may enbody profound truths.Now the Hmong myth has been little known.Now,the dissemination of myths and stories is urgently needed.This article selects the "The butterfly's mother" of Miao mythology as the research object." The butterfly's mother " gave birth to "Jiang Yang" who is the human ancestor.Jiang Yang multiplied the Miao people.So the Miao also regarded the " The butterfly's mother " as their ancestor,and had a special emotion for the butterfly creature.There are a lot of butterfly patterns in the Hmong batik,silverware and embroidery.This article analyzes the research results of Miao butterfly myth,and analyzes the character and practical significance of " The butterfly's mother " from the content of the ancient math.For the purpose of spreading the mythical story "Butterfly Mother",the dynamic figures were used to reinterpret the legend of human origins in Miao Nationality Ancient Songs.
