Digital special effects technology has deeply affected the development of today’s films from the field view shooting to the synthesis of do films in the shed.In this,the application of motion capture technology has changed the form of film performance.When watching the film,the audience will judge which actor plays the role according to the features of the character,body and other physical features.But in the process of creating virtual characters,these bases have been changed by technology,actors from the front to behind the scenes,the audience can not know from the screen who is performing.Before using action capture technology,the film shoots virtual characters through physical special effects entities such as fixed animation,special effects makeup,mechanical model and so on.From the screen performance,the two achieved similar results,but from the internal mechanism of the two have greatly changed.First of all,the performance environment of the two is different.What you shoot in a physical performance is what you get,but what you shoot in a virtual performance is not what you get.The actor changed from "present" to "intended presence ".Second,the two acting sources are different.Entity performance is a trinity,and the actor itself is both a creator,a creative tool or a work,and an individual artistic creation.Virtual performance is a three-bit split,the general process of virtual character creation begins with collecting actor performance data,taking computer generated images as the basic template,and animators control the presentation of the final effect.Actors,technologists and animators play different roles.The actor is responsible for using the body to provide index or reference for the performance of the character,the technology provides the material basis for the whole virtual performance practice,and the animator is responsible for modifying the performance with software according to the understanding of the character in post-production.Is a collective artistic creation.Finally,the scope of the two performances is different.Due to the limitation of actor’s physiological attributes,the virtual characters are mainly humanoid and humanoid.And in the virtual performance of WYSIWYG(What you see is what you get),all kinds of human,human and even non-human virtual characters can be shaped.In the research,it is necessary to make clear how the action capture technology affects the performance practice,to distinguish the responsibilities and obligations of each type of work in the creation of virtual roles,and to treat the virtual performance as a different technical performance phenomenon in the past.This article has carried on the research along this thought.First,the development process of motion capture technology is listed,which will help to understand how this technology affects and profoundly changes performance practice.Secondly,the influence of motion capture technology on film performance is discussed,which includes many changes and disputes.In the end,we try to treat virtual performance as a different technical performance phenomenon,and discuss it from three aspects: essential characteristics,connotation extension and technology application ethics.The rapid development of technology makes people’s cognition of virtual performance appear vague.On the one hand,most of the domestic research discusses how actors adapt to the new virtual performance environment,and less regards virtual performance as a phenomenon to explore its interior.What is the impact of action capture technology on performance.What role actors,animators,or techniques themselves play in this.How to view the reality constructed by the special performance practice of man-machine interaction and the combination of reality and reality.What is the significance of virtual performance as a technical performance phenomenon.These issues remain to be explored.On the other hand,with the continuous improvement of the domestic film industry,motion capture technology has not been widely used but is also in its infancy.The study of virtual performance using this technology will help to deepen the understanding of the integration of technology and art.From the above discussion,it can be concluded that the film performance using action capture technology is not only from the performance of actors or the production of animators,but also from the technical performance phenomenon under the complete film industry system.This includes many problems that need to be solved urgently,and in-depth study of these problems requires interdisciplinary,cross-work collaboration.
