The Structure And Expression Of"Life Stream"in Social Reality Documentaries

The year 2020 will be the final year for the relocation of poverty alleviation officials from inhospitable areas in China.The miracle of poverty alleviation created by China will also welcome and commemorate the great day of the 100 th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC).How to "stay steady and get rich" became two more critical problems.Such important social reality topics need to be conveyed to the audience by documentaries to boost poverty alleviation work.However,at present,such social reality documentaries tend to be thematic propaganda,and their grand narrative style cannot meet the needs of the audience or they are fragmented objective records,and lack of natural expression of profound themes.Among them,the attention on the relocation policy of poverty alleviation from inhospitable areas only stays in the perspective of the relocation of rural households and the leadership work of relocation,but does not touch the current situation of residents living in the new environment after relocation.From the beginning,social reality documentary is an important type to record and reveal the current social situation,difficulties and problems,However,domestic creators have been addicted to the Characteristics of ontology,ignoring its artistic storytelling.Siegfried Kracauer,a famous German film theorist,which put forward the concept of "life stream" in his book The Nature of Cinema,tried to reconcile these contradictions and in recent years,many works with their "life stream" characteristics once again put documentary and artistic in the creation of documentary,and strive to achieve the perfect integration of the two.China’s social reality documentaries have also experienced from feature films with distinct themes to documentaries with realistic style,and then to documentaries with personalized style represented by individual DV creation,and even documentaries on the subject of daily life in pursuit of poetry.For the present social reality documentary,how important social reality can be incorporated into the daily life narration and how to get the original reappearance life itself objectively and poetry to express deep theme with deep emotions,so as to meet the audience’s increasing ideological pursuit and aesthetic needs,it has put forward higher requirements for its creation.This paper will take "life stream" as the clue,traceability associated with physical reality daily,documentary style and other concepts,analysis of the "life stream" excellent documentary works both at home and abroad,the application and applied to graduate work “moved to the new homes at a newly-built community at the county seat”,this paper focuses on the two aspects of daily life material and the conflict between theme and emotion,and discusses how to permeate the concept of "life stream" into the creation of current social reality documentaries.
