Thissuccessful documentary starts a new spring of Chinese documentary industry, which shows aprosperous and well-developing picture.However, according to relevant records and reports, the general development of Chinesedocumentary industry is not hopeful. Especially the problem of lack of realistic documentarycannot be evaded. Set this problem aside for a moment, there is a common phenomenon inthe existing ones–the themes of most documentaries are superficial. They do not explore andpresent a further and deeper purpose of their works."Well-being of life"started to broadcast on Phenix since2003. It seems to break theroutine of superficial and goes deep into the themes. The themes are not the hottest socialtopics but the most realistic ones. Its unique perspective finds out the normal but real thingsand people. It shows a thoughtful connotation and social responsibility.Aiming at the problem of superficial presentation in Chinese realistic documentary, thisdissertation will, focusing on the case of "Well-being of life", research how to dig out socialresource for documentary production by analyzing its creative characteristic, topic selectionand distinctive expression.
