In the sixth year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty(941),An Chongrong rebelled under the banner of opposing Khitan, and finally died.According to the traditional view, the public opinion of “disgraced becoming vassal of Khitan”weakened the legitimacy of Shi Jingtang’s rule,so the foundation of the regime was unstable, and the rebellion of An Chongrong broke out in this situation. However, although Shi Jingtang’s behavior of serving "barbarians" as "Huaxia" was criticized, the later Jin Dynasty did not lose control of the vassal towns. Moreover, most of the courtiers or Jiedushi were not ashamed of serving Khitan under the premise of ensuring their personal interests. Therefore, opinion of “disgraced becoming vassal to Khitan” had limited influence on the political situation of the later Jin Dynasty.During Shi Jingtang’s reign,he strengthened the centralization of power by rectifying the forbidden army and suppressing the vassal towns, and effectively curbed the vassal towns. An Chongrong was deeply suppressed by the imperial court in the process of accumulating strength. Moreover,Chengde was close to Khitan and directly faced with the geographical threat from Khitan. The contradiction between An Chongrong and Khitan was deepening day by day,and he was particularly dissatisfied with Shi Jingtang’s policy of becoming a vassal to Khitan. In order to reduce the obstacles,An Chongrong tried to destroy the alliance between the later Jin Dynasty and Khitan,so he launched a rebellion in the name of anti Khitan, but the responder was very few,and the rebellion was quickly put out. After the rebellion of An Chongrong, the later Jin Dynasty strengthened the reduction of the vassal town power, but Hedong town rose again, and the situation in the northern and southern border areas of the later Jin Dynasty became more tense. For this reason, the ministers of the later Jin Dynasty supported Shi Chonggui, the older one,and their foreign policy towards Khitan also changed.
