"Military disorder" is also known as "military mutiny".In the early Ming Dynasty, there was basically no military unrest. After Zhengde, military disorder increased significantly, and gradually became an important issue in the northern border defense of the Ming Dynasty.Around the construction and garrison of the side wall of the pier, two military disturbances broke out in Datong Town in the third year of Jiajing and in the twelfth year of Jiajing respectively. The long duration and great destructiveness of the military unrest are rare in the history of the Ming Dynasty and have certain typicality and research significance.During the Jiajing period, the Datong Army disorder was caused by many reasons: first, the Datong Army disorder was the result of the political struggle in the early period of Jiajing;secondly, the confrontation and connection between the Datong Town Army and the border Mongolia also promoted the outbreak of the military disorder;thirdly, the Datong Army disorder was the inevitable result of the intensification of the contradiction between officers and soldiers in the Datong Town under the defeat of the border government. The two rebellions of the Datong Army in Jiajing period were an importantevent in the northern area in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, which also had many influences.First of all,the two Datong Army Rebellions had an impact on the economy and military of Datong Town;secondly, the Datong Army Rebellion also had an impact on other border towns on the Ninth Frontier, and military unrest broke out in Liaoyang,Yansui and other places one after another;finally, the trend of border people fleeing caused by the Datong Army Rebellion also had a certain impact on the Ming-Mongolian relations.Generally speaking, through the analysis of the Datong Army chaos during the Jiajing period,we can deepen our understanding of the social crisis and the corruption of the northern border politics in the late Ming Dynasty, especially in the Jiajing period.
