| As an essential writing feedback mechanism of second language learners’ text output quality,peer feedback has been recognized by scholars at home and abroad in improving students’ English writing ability.The effective combination of peer review and computer technology is the best way to solve the shortage of writing teaching resources.Based on the Process Writing Theory and the Zone of Proximal Development theory,20 English Major Postgraduates write and peer review the abstract,introduction and conclusion of academic English papers in Peerceptiv.The specific steps are: planning and writing outline → first draft → peer feedback → review and revision → second draft → second peer feedback.By comparing the score difference of three writing tasks before and after peer feedback,exploring the relationship between the students’ text modification rate and comment adoption rate after peer feedback,and combining with qualitative data collected by semi-structured interviews,this thesis employs the quantitative and qualitative research methods to analyze whether peer feedback can improve students’ academic English writing ability and optimize the quality and quality of academic writing discourse.The study found that peer feedback can improve English majors’ academic English writing with the aid of Peerceptiv.The research results are mainly shown in three aspects:Firstly,through the comparison of students’ writing score before and after peer review,it is found that students’ writing score has been improved in abstract writing,introduction writing and conclusion Writing,but the improvement of students’ conclusion writing ability is relatively high.Besides,in different writing tasks,students’ writing scores in text content and language expression also have different degrees of improvement.Second,the effect of peer review is influenced by the degree of peer review adoption.Compared with the adopted comments in writing content dimension,the highest adoption of comment is in the language expression.There is a positive correlation between students’ adoption of comments and the revision of the written text,especially the adoption rate of language-focused comments,which is an essential factor in improving the text’s quality.Finally,students agree with peer feedback.Most students can actively carry out the peer review,study and revise the peer feedback seriously,which will train students’ evaluation ability and critical thinking ability.This research will help provide a new perspective for the teaching practice of academic English writing,especially with the assist of the Peerceptiv.Peer evaluation can help students quickly improve their academic English writing skills,cultivate rigorous academic norms and operational ability,improve their comprehensive ability of academic English,and cultivate more excellent academic talents for society. |
