| With the continuous advancement of the English curriculum reform,junior high school English teachers are aware of the importance of teacher feedback in English teaching.Correct teacher feedback is an effective way to improve students’ language learning.Teacher feedback not only can conducive the classroom interaction between teachers and students in the classroom,but also can conducive to improving teaching efficiency.It is an important means to improve students’ learning motivation.In addition,teacher feedback is also a language input that students can effectively output language,providing students with more opportunities for language output.At present,domestic and foreign scholars have mainly conducted studies on teacher feedback and learning motivation,but there are few studies on the combination of the two.This paper combs the relevant literature at home and abroad.Based on the relevant research on classroom teacher feedback and students’ learning motivation,analyzes the current situation of teachers’ feedback and students’ motivation in junior high school classrooms in our country.It is suggested that Junior middle school English teachers’ feedback has an important influence on students’ learning motivation.Based on Gardner’s motivation theory and Krashen’s emotional filtering hypothesis and input hypothesis.Through the investigation of the use of different forms of teacher feedback language,it explores the impact of different teacher feedback on students’ learning motivation.This research takes the Junior high school English classroom as background,takes 197 students from 4 classes of the fourth of middle school in Liaocheng and 4 English teachers from the second grade as the research objects.Adopting methods of combining qualitative and quantitative research.Setting up research questions:(1)The use of teacher feedback in Junior middle school English classes;(2)The current situation of the motivation of Junior middle school students to learn English;(3)What factors play an important role in the influence of teacher feedback on Junior middle school students’ English learning motivation ? Compile the questionnaire,student interview questions,teacher interview questions to investigate the influence of teachers’ classroom feedback on students’ English learning motivation through classroom observations.The research findings are as follows :(1)Teachers’ feedback has a great impact on students’ learning motivation.Positive teachers’ feedback in class can promote students’ interest in English learning and improve their motivation in English learning.(2)The use of positive feedback by teachers in the classroom is the most,followed by negative feedback,followed by other feedback(excluding positive feedback,negative feedback and other forms of no-feedback)accounting for 39% of the total.Due to the factors of teachers themselves,everyone has his own teaching style and way,so each teacher uses other feedback in various forms.(3)Teachers’ feedback attitude and students’ preference for receiving feedback play an important role in the process of teachers’ feedback influencing students’ English learning motivation. |
