| The multimodality of information transmission and communication provides a new opportunity for the reform of education.The multimodality of teaching puts forward higher requirements for learners’ multiliteracies.Based on the theory of multimodal discourse analysis and social semiotics,this study takes the students of class16 and class3 of a junior middle school in Anshan as the research objects,and uses the methods of questionnaire survey,experiment and comparative analysis to carry out the survey of multiliteracies and the teaching experimental research on the cultivation of multiliteracies in English reading teaching.The paper discusses the following aspects:(1)In junior high school multimodal English reading teaching,how to cultivate students’ multimodal resource understanding ability,data search and utilization ability,resource judgment and recognition ability and multimodal communicative cooperative learning ability;(2)In the cultivation of the above abilities,through the relevant teaching activities,which abilities have been improved and how much have they been improved;(3)What is the effect of cultivating students’ multiliteracies on their reading comprehension ability in junior high school English multimodal reading teaching.Through the comparison of the experimental data,the following findings are obtained:(1)The teaching mode of integrating multimodal symbols into all aspects of English reading teaching can improve students’ four kinds of multiliteracies;(2)Among them,multimodal resource understanding ability is the most improved,followed by multimodal communicative cooperative learning ability,followed by data search and utilization ability,and resource judgment and recognition ability is the least improved;(3)This teaching model can also improve students’ reading comprehension ability.Finally,this paper also puts forward feasible opinions and suggestions for junior high school English teachers to cultivate students’ multiliteracies from three aspects of teaching resources,interactive methods and evaluation system. |
