The Study Of Frege’s Linguistic Philosophy

Frege’s philosophy of language originated in the late 19 th century.With the vigorous development of natural science,psychology and physics,philosophy began to shift its attention to the field of language,thus Frege opened a "linguistic turn" of philosophy.Based on the background of that time,the study of Frege’s philosophy of language in combination with logic can deeply understand the intrinsic motivation of Frege’s change,understand the content and internal relationship of philosophy of language,deepen the study of the trend of philosophy of language,and promote the research and development of logic,analytical philosophy and other related disciplines.By combing the basic content of Frege’s philosophy of language,this paper studies the significance of Frege’s philosophy of language,including the following four aspects:Firstly,the paper analyzes the ideological background of Frege’s philosophy of language.The paper holds that: at that time,the research content of traditional philosophy lost its research significance,and philosophy could not continue to develop in the original way;the object of philosophy research was gradually occupied by physics,psychology and other fields;although the previous research on philosophy of language focused on the field of language,it also had its narrowness;and at that time,modern logic flourished in the field of philosophy These factors jointly promoted the birth of Frege’s philosophy of language.Secondly,the paper combs the internal logic of Frege’s philosophy of language.This paper points out: in order to construct the philosophy of language,we need to break the shortcomings of daily language.In order to solve this problem,Frege constructed the concept text,and used the symbols in mathematics to replace the ambiguous words.Then he proposed the concept and object,and connected the mathematical symbols with the language of words.Finally,he discussed the main content of the philosophy of language from the specific sentences.Thirdly,the thesis makes a deep and detailed study on the main content of Frege’s philosophy of language-the theory of truth.This paper holds that Frege’s new definition of truth and different meaning of "truth" is to distinguish it from what people do for it,and to realize the pursuit of "truth" by distinguishing the meaning and meaning of proper names,concept words and sentences with the help of the unique methods of formal language and logical calculus.On this basis,the paper summarizes the characteristics of Frege’s path of exploring truth.Finally,the paper puts forward the significance of Frege’s philosophy of language.The paper mainly starts from two parts: on the one hand,it discusses its theoretical significance,and holds that Frege’s philosophy of language not only makes philosophy research from the content of cognition to the expression of knowledge,but also realizes the transformation of philosophical research object,at the same time,it also gets rid of the religious mystery in traditional western philosophy,and creates new research methods and principles;on the other hand,it discusses its practical significance,It is believed that Frege’s philosophy of language has begun to criticize idealism thoroughly,and has brought a series of important guidance to the thoughts of later philosophers,and also left challenges.
