"Shaping People,Shaping Times-Meng Xiaohong,a dough sculptor" is a film with Ms.Meng Xiaohong,the non-genetic inheritor of dough sculpture in Yangzhou,as the main character.It tells about Meng Xiaohong’s life of dough sculpture and the survival and changes of traditional handicrafts in today’s environment.This work shows the audience the meticulous and exquisite dough sculpture skills of traditional folk craftsmen and Meng Xiaohong’s pure craftsman spirit of loving dough sculpture under the torrent of development in the great era,and devoting all his efforts to pursue the better development of dough sculpture culture.This documentary,in a progressive relationship,uses microscopic image records to express macroscopic image narratives.Its narrative clues mainly have three levels.The first level focuses on the development and changes of dough sculpture culture,the existing situation and the stories of dough sculpture artists engaged in dough sculpture skills.The second layer mainly records the living conditions of traditional folk dough figurine artists in today’s social and cultural environment through the form of images,covering family life,social life,work life and other states;The third layer shows Meng Xiaohong,the inheritor of dough sculpture,changing and unchangeable cultural inheritance over more than 20 years through the unique skills of traditional folk dough sculpture artists,the expectation of inheritance to the next generation,the feeling of life engaged in dough sculpture,etc.,and deeply analyzes the reasons behind the changes of dough sculpture skills in the times with images,reflecting the rise and fall and changes in the process of dough sculpture cultural inheritance.This paper is divided into five parts,including introduction,creative process,narrative strategy,audio-visual language and creative feeling.The introduction includes five aspects:research background,research content,research methods,research value and research status,and introduces the realistic background and core content of the author’s works in detail.It is hoped that more people can pay attention to the living status of traditional folk craftsmen through "Shaping People,Shaping Times-Meng Xiaohong,a dough figurine craftsman".The first chapter mainly elaborates the creation process of the works from three stages:early planning,mid-stage shooting and late editing.In the early stage of planning,the author introduced four aspects;the source of topic selection,the analysis of characters,the establishment of theme and shooting style,and the formulation of shooting plan and scheme.In the middle shooting stage,the author recorded Meng Xiaohong’s daily life,Meng Xiaohong’s working status,interviews with relevant people and other important contents with a lens,and used special shooting methods to enrich the image performance.In the later editing,the author narrates from five aspects:sorting out video materials,creating editing manuscript,writing commentary,preliminary cutting and fine cutting,and editing concept analysis.The second chapter is the narrative strategy analysis of the works,including narrative theme analysis,narrative perspective analysis and narrative structure analysis.The author analyzes the narrative theme from three aspects.First,it calls on the social groups to pay attention to the existing situation of the intangible culture.The second is to show Meng Xiaohong’s persistence and love of dough sculpture;The third is to carry forward the spirit of inheritance and innovation of non-genetic people.For the analysis of narrative perspective,the author uses omniscient perspective and inner perspective to tell the content of the film.For the analysis of narrative structure,the author mainly uses linear narrative structure and plate narrative structure,and expounds the content level of the works.The third chapter is the audio-visual language analysis of the documentary as a whole,including the language analysis of the fixed lens,the language analysis of the moving lens,the language analysis of the picture modeling and the language analysis of sound and image.Analyze,think about problems with image language,and construct the image sense and aesthetics of the works.The fourth chapter is the feeling after the creation of the works,including the difficulties and shortcomings of the works and the summary of the works.There are three main difficulties and deficiencies in the creation.First,the incomplete filming technology,second,the low degree of follow-up,and finally,the unsatisfactory scene scheduling.These difficulties and deficiencies have exercised the author’s life practice and social communication ability to a certain extent.The summary and thinking part of the creation contains the creation harvest and suggestions for the future inheritance and development of Yangzhou dough sculpture.In his creation,the author has significantly improved his own literacy in all aspects,honed his will,and more importantly,through Meng Xiaohong’s character emotion and spirit,the author realized that to do one thing,he should persevere,keep a cheerful and open-minded attitude towards life,be brave in facing difficulties and hardships,love life,be honest and do things honestly,and make his life more colorful and meaningful.As for how Yangzhou dough sculpture or national intangible culture can be better inherited and developed,the author believes that relevant government departments should increase policy support and encourage young people to join intangible learning.Non-genetic people should dare to innovate and make more use of science and technology to open up new ways of communication.New media workers should shoulder the heavy responsibility of non-genetic broadcasting and protection,and follow the publicity and protection principles of authenticity,integrity and sustainability,so that the
